Dr. Shakir is a nationally recognized neurosurgeon providing advanced, patient-centered spine care. He performs the full spectrum of spinal procedures—cervical, thoracic, and lumbar—including scoliosis correction, minimally invasive, endoscopic, and pain-management techniques. Consistently ranked among Georgia’s top spine surgeons, he has been named one of “Atlanta’s Top Docs.”
Before joining Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, GA, he served as Chief of Neurosurgery at the Oklahoma City VA, where he introduced modern minimally invasive techniques and taught at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He also served as President of the Oklahoma Neurosurgical Society and is a published contributor to leading neurosurgical textbooks.
